Based on our awareness of the importance of standing hand in hand with all official and popular authorities in these exceptional circumstances that Palestine, the region and the world are going through as a result of the outbreak of the “Corona” virus, we have sought Sinokrot Holding since the first day of the emergence of the Corona virus pandemic, and we were proactive to extend a helping hand for poor and needy families, because we believe that poverty is the worst weapon of mass destruction. We have worked in two directions, the first direction is relief, as we cooperated with the Ministry of Jerusalem Affairs, Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, Bethlehem Governorate, Jericho Governorate, Al Aghwar, and the Popular Committees in the regions in (14) governorates in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to provide food parcels worth 350,000 NIS, including providing thousands of food parcels to children in all Palestinian governorates in the West Bank, including Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, through the Baraem Al-Khair campaign. The second direction is health. Engineer Mazen Sinokrot, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Sinokrot Holding”, sought by virtue of his position as Chairman of the Council of The Palestinian-British business, in cooperation with British institutions, provided support to the health sector in Jerusalem, represented by the Jerusalem Hospital Network, through in-kind assistance in the form of medical equipment and supplies, equivalent to 50,000 USD.
It is worth noting that Eng. Sinokrot, also in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Palestinian Institute for Education for Employment (a non-profit, non-governmental organization), and his colleagues on the Foundation’s Board of Directors took a decision that they considered necessary to change the institution’s priorities, so that the issue of combating the Corona virus pandemic is on The Foundation’s top priority, by making use of the available capabilities and resources, as the Foundation, in cooperation with its international partners, had the honor to take the initiative in supporting and strengthening the capabilities of (80) doctors, supporting and strengthening (80) nurses, as well as supporting and enhancing the capabilities of (80) specialists in hospitals in the West Bank and East Jerusalem are taking care of the elderly and integrating them into society during the current year 2020, in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Sinokrot has provided additional cash support to the “Waqfet Ezz” fund, in the amount of 50,000 shekels, to contribute to alleviating the suffering of our people in beloved Palestine and to assist in the fund’s program aimed at confronting the economic, social and health damage caused by the spread of the Corona virus.
