His Excellency, Engineer Mazen Tawfiq Sinokrot,
Chairman of Sinokrot Holding, former Minister of National Economy
Born in Jerusalem to Palestinian parents and received his basic and secondary education in Jerusalem as well. In 1974, he joined the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom to study industrial engineering, and earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in industrial production engineering and management. Known as the “owner of the twenty initiatives", whereas, he had a direct relationship with more than (35) institution and company, as a founder and/or as a member of the board of directors and/or as the Chairman of the Board. He founded and chaired many institutions of the Palestinian private sector, including the Palestinian Food Industries Union, the Palestine Trade Center (Pal trade), and the Palestinian Private Sector Coordinating Council. He stills an active board member of many Palestinian economic and social institutions which are existing and operating in the West Bank and Jerusalem. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Quds Holding Company, Member of the Board of Trustees of Al-Quds University, Member of the Board of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places in Jerusalem, Board Member of Palestine Investment Fund (PIF), and Chairman of the Palestine Foundation of Education for Employment. He also contributed by virtue of his leadership positions in controlling financial and administrative behavior based on fighting corruption within the foundation of good governance, principles of transparency and values of integrity and accountability systems. He served as Minister of National Economy in the Ninth Government (Government of Technocrats), Chairman of board for Palestine Standards Institution and Palestinian Investment Promotion Agency as an independent national figure.
