His Excellency Eng. Mazen Sinokrot, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sinokrot Holding, and Eng. Mo’men Sinokrot, the Director of Pal Gardens Agricultural Company (one of Sinokrot Holding companies), met with Minister of Agriculture, Riyad al-Atari, and Minister of National Economy Khaled al-Osaili, during a meeting in which they discussed the suggested mechanisms for regulating the export and marketing of customs-exempt dates to the Turkish markets, and this meeting was held at the headquarter of the Ministry of Agriculture in Ramallah with the presence of major companies exporting dates to Turkey, at the invitation of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
During the meeting, the importance of protecting the national product and methods to successfully export it abroad were discussed under the agricultural control in cooperation with the competent authorities to prevent the smuggling of dates, where the volume of exports of Medjool dates to Turkey reaches 3000 tons/year.
His Excellency Eng. Mazen Sinokrot, said: “In light of the presence of many companies exporting dates to Turkey, and according to the data of the exporting volume, it is necessary to explicitly define the Palestinian source, which is characterized by a qualified infrastructure for packing and packaging factories, in addition to being subject to the quality chart for dates and conformity with Palestine Standards Institution.”
This meeting comes during the opening of the Palestinian Medjool dates production and packaging season for 2021. Palestine Gardens Agricultural Company, one of Sinokrot Holding companies, is one of the largest companies that export dates to Turkey, as it exports to about 26 countries around the world.
